Tool and calculation disclaimer
Plain-language policy, written and maintained by the site operator and checked against what the site actually does on 2026-09-15. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
These tools are a planning and fabrication aid
The calculators produce mathematical geometry from the numbers you enter. They are intended to save you time on layout and give you a starting point. They are not a substitute for your own checking, your shop's standards, or professional judgement.
You are responsible for verifying every dimension before cutting, forming or ordering material.
What is not accounted for
Each tool lists its own assumptions on its page. Read them. In general the calculators do not account for:
- Material thickness, neutral-axis position or K-factor compensation, unless a tool says otherwise.
- Springback, grain direction, tooling, or how your specific machine behaves.
- Weld preparation, shrinkage or distortion.
- Manufacturing tolerances, fit-up allowances or clearances.
- Your shop's own bend tables, seam standards or cutting kerf.
- Structural adequacy, load capacity, pressure rating or code compliance of any kind.
A generic value can never replace your shop's measured data. Where a tool uses one, it says so.
DXF output
DXF files are generated in your browser as DXF R12 (AC1009). Geometry is covered by automated tests and each release is read back with independent DXF software to confirm the files parse and contain the expected entities. How this is done, and what it does and does not prove, is on the Approach page.
That is a correctness check on the file, not a guarantee about your part. Always open the DXF, confirm the scale and units, and measure key dimensions in your own CAD system before sending it to a machine.
No professional engineering services
Nothing on this site is offered as licensed professional engineering services, and no output from these tools is an engineering certification, approval, stamp or sign-off. If your work requires that, it requires a licensed professional engineer in your jurisdiction.
No warranty
The tools are provided free and as-is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for loss or damage arising from use of the calculators, the generated files, or reliance on any result — including wasted material, machine time, or rework.
Found a problem?
Incorrect geometry is the most serious bug this site can have, and reports are genuinely welcome. If a result does not match your own calculation or your CAD model, please send the numbers you used and what you expected.
